Description:

Eswatini Civil Aviation Authority (ESWACAA), a Category A Public Enterprise responsible for the regulation of Civil Aviation in the Kingdom of Eswatini and the operation of King Mswati III International Airport. ESWACAA carries out its mandate in conformitywith International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

ESWACAA invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the positionof Trainee Ramp Officer tenable under the Ramp and Terminal operations department at the King Mswati III International Airport. This is a 12-month traineeship training and during this period the candidate will be stationed at King Mswati III International Airport (Sikhuphe). Successful candidates may be considered for employment onsuccessful completion of the prescribed Ramp Traineeship Program.

1.  JOB PURPOSE:

To equip trainees with the skills and knowledge necessary to support aircraft and ground operations safely, efficiently,and compliantlyon the ramp, ensuring strict adherence to all safety, security, and regulatory procedures.

2.  TRAINING PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS 

The Trainee will learn the following:

•    Introduction to Airport & Ramp Operations - Airport layout, airside access control, apron

markings, ground handling chain.

•    Aviation Safety & Security - Ramp safety, PPE, FOD control, security zones, emergency response.

•    Aircraft Familiarization - Aircraft types, ground service points, safety zones, aircraft recognition

•    Ground Handling Procedures - Marshalling, chocking, loading/unloading, baggage handling, GPU, ACU

•    Communication & Coordination- Standard radio phraseology,coordination with ATC, ground teams

•    Ramp Equipment Operation & Maintenance - GSE (tugs, belt loaders, GPU, tow bars), inspection, maintenance checks

•    On the job training - Aircraft marshalling and parking, Baggage loading/unloading, Ground support equipment operations, Refuelling supervision, Turnaround coordination.

3.  QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum requirements;

i) Qualification

-    IGCSE/EGCSE/ O’Level (or equivalent) education with a minimum of five (5) credits. Credits in Mathematics and English language are mandatory.

-    Pass Medical examination.

-    Must be between 18 and 30 years ofage.

ii)  Added Advantage

-    First Aid Level 2 certificate

-    Valid heavy duty driver’s License.

iii) Other requirements

-    Full Aviation Security Clearance.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the following competencies, knowledge, and personal attributes:

-    Able to follow instructions.

-    Eager to learn.

-    Good communication and interpersonal skills.

-    Excellent customer handling skills.

-    Must be disciplined and of a good character – vetting will be conducted.

-    Ability to workunder pressure and work flexible working hours (shifts).
